Personal UV Protective Clothing  and Equipment Program (PPE)

We provide our families with Personal Protective clothing and Equipment for Sun protection. Patients living with Xeroderma Pigmentosum must wear unique clothing that provides UV Protection and use UV meters that measure UV exposure, indicating whether it is safe for them to go outdoors.
Furthermore, we conduct a home evaluation to determine what Sun protection is needed to ensure and install the appropriate protective home accessories.
•    If you would like to donate to this cause, please go to Donate and mark your donation “PPE.”

Family Sponsorship Program

Our family sponsorship begins with interviewing and selecting a family with the proper attitude and dynamics to house one of our clients in their homes. We perform due diligence to protect our clients, providing them with a loving and safe environment during their visit to the United States for treatment.

  • If you would like to sponsor a family, please get in touch with us.

Patient Travel Program

Our clients must travel from their native countries to the United States for treatment. Once here, they require regular travel to and from our nation’s hospitals to receive treatment. NEXP performs fundraising activities to assist with the cost of transportation both to the United States and while here to receive treatment. Our organizational and individual funders are the key to providing this service to our clients.

Supplementary Meal Program

Our supplementary meal program starts with assisting clients with the cost of meals. Clients consume meals while staying with a sponsor family or traveling to appointments. Client health is vital to successful treatments, and it starts with having three balanced meals a day to provide them with the proper nutrients. We consult hospital dietitians to provide well-balanced meals. These meals can be expensive, so we look to our donors to help us meet this basic need for our clients.

  • If you want to donate to this cause, please go to Donate and mark your donation as “Supplementary Meal.”

Home and Hospital Tutoring

We provide our clients with educational home tutoring and in-hospital tutoring. Volunteer licensed teachers in Massachusetts or their respective states perform these educational services. Education is one of the essential components of the services we provide our clients. There is a screening process involved. However, we find that most educational professionals easily meet our requirements.

  • If you are a teacher who would like to volunteer to become a tutor, please get in touch with us.

Interpreter Services

Our trained interpreters assist with interpretation services during medical consults and treatment. However, we realize that, at times, we must contract these services. Therefore, our donors must help us find these services’ costs. We are constantly looking for volunteer language interpreters to help provide this service to our families.

Pro bono Legal Services

We at NEXP realize that many legal questions arise for our families during their stay in the United States. Therefore, we secure pro bono legal services from accomplished attorneys who desire to assist clients in resolving legal matters or answering questions in a legal context. We are always seeking new volunteer attorneys for this purpose.

  • If you'd like to volunteer, please get in touch with us.

and Help to Fight
Xeroderma Pigmentosum!

Donations to support Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) research and care are greatly appreciated. XP is a rare genetic disorder that affects the skin and eyes, making them highly sensitive to ultraviolet radiation and leading to an increased risk of skin cancer. By donating, you can help fund research to find treatments and cures for XP. You can also support the development of resources to help individuals and families who are affected by XP. Your donation will make a difference in the fight against this rare and debilitating disorder. Thank you for your generous support.
